Scotland Trip

Toto (sit start), font7aWell, decided to head up to Scotland couple of weeks ago. The weather all over England was not promising so we thought we’d give it a shot. Went to Glasgow for the first two days, bouldering at Dumbarton, a pretty surreal place, with he local townies throwing glass bottles at the boulders, then, other hardcore boulderers’ milling about. After here, we carried on up to Glen Nevis to go and try some stuff on the Etive Slabs, not much fun belaying someone on the top pitch slab in the rain with 00 cams in tiny cracks, but as always, funny when you get down to the bottom.

Next was Skye. A nice place but horrible in the rain. We had heard of some bouldering been developed at the base of the Cullin Ridge, so hiked up there in full water proofs to find not a lot at all. We couldn’t even see the ridge because of the weather. The day we left Skye it was beautiful weather, seeing the whole ridge.

St. Bees

We didn’t want our trip to be over so we headed down to St. Bees and yet again it failed to dissapoint. We had a fantastic day. Completing Headbanger, V6, was the highlight of my day. And finally, we ended the trip at Raven Tor for some crimp fun. It was quite warm though cooling down nearer the end of the day. More to be had at that crag!
